In July 2013 I traveled to Le Claire, Iowa to photograph American White Pelicans at Lock and Dam 14 on the Mississippi River with a group organized by Mark Perry of MPEG. We had two days of wonderful weather. In addition to the pelicans, there were large numbers of Double Crested Cormorants competing for the fish at the dam. In this situation the cormorants have learned to eat their catch quickly to avoid being mobbed by pelicans trying to steal their catch.
In late June 2013 I visited Minnesota Wildlife Connection, Sandstone, Minnesota, with a group of friends to photograph a variety of captive mammals native to the northern Minnesota area.
Returned to Yellowstone NP in February 2013 with 2 friends. Just drove the road between Mammoth Hot Springs and Cooke City this year. Some landscapes will follow shortly.
Photos of some of the animals we encountered on a trip to Yellowstone in 2010. Looking forward to a return trip in 2011 to a magical destination with good friends.
Landscape photos from a 2010 trip to Yellowstone. Low snow amounts but still a wonderful trip.
I spent a week in the Lee Metcalf Wilderness outside of Yellowstone National Park in late July 2009. These are some images from that trip.
North of Churchill on the barren tundra on the shore of Hudson Bay you find this wonderful oasis.
Some aerial photographs of Glacier Bay National Park, taken on a trip led by Matthew Studebaker to photograph eagles in Haines, Alaska
In Nov. 2014 I visited Old Car City in White, Georgia. It was a spectacular 2 days surrounded by fall color and cool, sunny weather. At first overwhelming to walk among some 4500 cars on 34 acres, one gradually becomes immersed in the many photo opportunities. I am anxious to return to try different techniques and discover more treasures on this property. I couldn't help but wonder about all the amazing stories and experiences attached to these old vehicles. Just walking among the vehicles is a very special experience.
I revisited Minnesota with friends from NPEG to photograph animals in fall foliage.
