An escape from the harsh winter to the Phoenix area of Arizona allowed me to visit a photographer friend and capture these images.
My first photo trip of 2015 was to Winnipeg, Canada with friends to search for and photograph owls. With Winnipeg resident, photographer and friend, Anne Klassen we were able to photograph Northern Hawk Owls (Surnia ulula) and Snowy Owls ( Nyctea scandiaca).
In November 2014 I traveled to Haines, Alaska with Matthew Studebaker and Thomas Lebeau to photograph eagles along the Chilkat River. One of the largest concentrations of eagles occurs along the Chilkat River in the fall. Not the best weather, but a wonderful time with great photographers.
Some aerial photographs of Glacier Bay National Park, taken on a trip led by Matthew Studebaker to photograph eagles in Haines, Alaska
In Nov. 2014 I visited Old Car City in White, Georgia. It was a spectacular 2 days surrounded by fall color and cool, sunny weather. At first overwhelming to walk among some 4500 cars on 34 acres, one gradually becomes immersed in the many photo opportunities. I am anxious to return to try different techniques and discover more treasures on this property. I couldn't help but wonder about all the amazing stories and experiences attached to these old vehicles. Just walking among the vehicles is a very special experience.
I revisited Minnesota with friends from NPEG to photograph animals in fall foliage.
