Visiting Nome, Alaska in the first half of June 2014, I was able to observe and photograph a number of species in the area. Many come to this area to breed.

Musk Ox are presented in a separate gallery, but I also photographed a number of other mammals while in the Nome area.

I have always wanted to photograph Musk Ox because of their almost prehistoric appearance. Nome, Alaska, is one of the only places where Musk Ox can be accessed relatively easily. Although the principle purpose of the trip to Nome was to photograph birds, I allowed extra time to observe and photograph the Musk Ox.
