The first and last night of my trip were spent at this wonderful boutique hotel (Parador Grace) on the shore east of Montevideo. Grace provided a welcome to the country and it was enjoyable visiting on my last day in the country. Grace is a delightful person and amazing cook. A wonderful choice by my guide, a relaxing introduction to the country and it was nice visiting a familiar face before leaving the country. It was fun photographing around the hotel. Here are some of those photos, bird photos will follow soon.
Some shots from a very preliminary edit of just the first few days of my trip. Not to overwhelm people I have decided to post images as I do my preliminary edit from an outstandingly productive trip. For some of these species I have better images but I wanted to begin posting. After I have completed my edit I will select the best images for my final website posting. Any identification mistakes are solely my responsibility.
Continuing my preliminary edit, I have only completed 2 more days. So many species on this very productive trip, organized by Birding With Me and led by Florencia Ocampo. These are posted for both my photography and birding friends. They are not all the best photos but I want to show the variety and diversity in Uruguay. When I finish my edit for this trip, I will post a category with my favorite photos. Any identification mistakes are solely my responsibility.

This completes my preliminary edit of the birds I photographed in Uruguay. It was an amazing experience. We saw 217 species. All the credit goes to Birding With Me for organizing this 15 day tour and my exceptional birding guide Florencia Ocampo.
For my birding friends I wanted to provide this list of birds that we saw on my Uruguay trip. We would have undoubtedly seen more if I wasn't a photographer and spent considerable amount of time watching birds and waiting for "the shot." Florencia Ocampo, my amazing guide knew the country and it's birds so well that I didn't waste time on some species when she would tell me I would get better opportunities later in the trip.
Bird Species List Uruguay 2015
In addition to all the bird species we found, I was able to photograph these other species.
Although the principle goal of my trip to Uruguay was to photograph birds. I visited some wonderful places and was able to photograph a wide variety of other subjects. I hope this gallery will give people a feeling for the amazing country of Uruguay.
